COVID-19: Group distributes grains to 15,000 widows in Kaduna
Coronavirus Pandemic
A group under the aegis of Christian Care for Widows, Widowers, Aged and Orphans Association, has distributed bags of maize grains to 15, 000 widows in Southern Kaduna.
Mrs. Felicia John, Southern Kaduna Coordinator of the association, disclosed this in Kafanchan on Monday, while speaking with newsmen shortly after supervising the distribution of the grains to the various district coordinators.
John explained that the gesture was meant to alleviate the sufferings of the widows, in view of the hardship occasioned by the COVID-19 lockdown.
She lauded the President and Founder of the group, Prof. Deborah Ajakaiye, for providing the grains, and prayed God to grant her the enablement to do more.
She appealed to other well-meaning individuals and organisations to come to the rescue of widows and other less privileged members of society during hard times such as the pandemic.
The southern Kaduna coordinator of the group implored the beneficiaries to make good use of the little they got to cushion their sufferings. (NAN)
