Coronavirus: Uzodimma distributes hand sanitizers to Imo People

HOPE Uzodimma, governor of Imo State, has flagged off distribution of hand sanitizers to civil servants, markets, schools and other public places in the state.
At the event in Owerri on Tuesday, March 24, Uzodimma ordered partial shutdown of the workforce to prevent possible spread of Coronavirus also known as COVID-19.
The governor assured the people of the state of his government’s preparedness to tackle the pandemic rocking the nation and the world at large.
“Civil Servants above 45 years will be encouraged not to come to work because they are the most vulnerable group,” he said.
Uzodinma said those on essential services would continue to come to work and promised that adequate measures had been put in place for their safety.
He reiterated that his government would continue to be proactive in the fight against the virus and enjoined all citizens of the state to keep away from crowded places and strive to upgrade their personal hygiene.
“We are consistent with our commitment to the fight against the dreaded virus, our commitment to ensure that citizens awareness is put in place and as well continue to remain vigilant to ensure that all things needed to enlighten our people about this disease are put in place,”he said.
