Coronavirus Pandemic
THE National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to the Federal and State governments to set up more Isolation Centres to cater for the increasing number of COVID-19 patients.
The appeal is contained in a statement signed by Mr Azeez Adeyemi, the National Public Relations Officer of the association in Abeokuta on Monday.
NANS noted that the appeal became necessary following the announcement of the Federal and state governments to commence the gradual process of easing of the lockdown.
It expressed concern of likely increase in the number of cases recorded daily in the country as a result of easing of the lockdown.
The association urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to bow to pressure from members of the public, who were trying to force the hands of the government in suspending the lockdown.
“The federal government must continue to be responsible, responsive and must continue to take decisive decision when the need arises,”it said.
It reiterated that the fight against COVID-19 pandemic remained a collective responsibility of all Nigerians, which should not be left in the hands of government alone.
The association urged everyone to adhere to directives of government aimed at curtailing the spread of coronavirus. (NAN)
