COVID-19: NOA sensitises 45 communities in Kaduna

THE National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kaduna state Directorate, on Monday said 45 communities in 10 Local Governments areas of the state, have been sensitised on Coronavirus.

Zubair Galadima-Soba, the state Director, NOA, disclosed this during a community engagement on sensitization of COVID-19 in Kaduna south local government.

According to him, 70 per cent of the community members who were visited were in denial of the existence of COVID-19 owing to the reason why the agency embarked on the sensitisation programme.

“You will agree that COVID-19 has been a worldwide issue, it is pertinent to the NOA to go to the field with the information on how to prevent the disease and manage the disease when it occurs.

“The agency made the people to be conversant with the health regulations and government regulations in tackling the pandemic.”

Galadima-Soba said the agency would report all the grievances mentioned by members of the community of not receiving enough palliatives, face mask, and bottles of hand sanitisers to the government for proper action to be taken.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NOA took the sensitisation campaign to Kurmin mashi, Tudun wada, Kasuwan Dole and Kasuwan Barci all in Kaduna south local government area.

Earlier, the District Head of Tudun wada,Thai Mahmud, commended NOA for organising the programme and promised to disseminate the information to his people.

He also called on the government to provide adequate facemask, soaps and hand sanitizers to communities and places of worship as the government prepares to ease lockdown.

Mr Shehu Danboyi, a community member, however, urged the government to show pictures or videos of people who are suffering from the disease so that people doubting the existence of the disease would believe in it. (NAN)
