Teenager charged with murder of schoolmate in Ado-Ekiti

AN Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a 16-year-old student, Kehinde Timilehin, who allegedly murdered his schoolmate.
The accused, a student of Ado Grammar School, Odo-Ado in Ado-Ekiti, is standing trial for murder of 18-year-old Favour Matthew.
According to the prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Okunade, the accused stabbed Matthew on the chest and killed him on Dec. 6 in Ado-Ekiti.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the court did not take the plea of the accused as Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye said he needed advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He ordered that the accused should be kept at the state Children Correctional Centre, pending the DPP’s advice.
Adegboye adjourned the case until Jan. 18 , 2019 for mention
