THE Dangote group has urged the understanding and patience of stakeholders following the widely reported recent visits to its head office in Lagos by the EFCC.

In a statement by the management, the organisation reckons with the concerns the visits have generated among their valued partners, stakeholders and the public.

It acknowledged the receipt of the letter dated December 6, 2023, requesting for details of all the company’s foreign exchange allocations by the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2014 to date.

According to the statement, despite their acknowledgement of the letter whilst also seeking for additional time to compile and properly present the extensive documents spanning 10 years, the EFCC failed to provide clarifications and didn’t also honour the request for an extension.

It noted that while their representatives are still at the EFCC’s office to deliver the documents, a team of their officers proceeded to visit their office to demand for the same documents in a manner that could cause the company some embarrassment.

It recalled that on January 4, 2024, their team delivered the first batch of the documents to the EFCC, but we’re not accepted by their officers, insisting on visiting their offices to collect same documents.
