THE 70th birthday celebration of Debrah Ogazuma, opened with a special Thanksgiving Service at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Abuja on 16th September 2020.

Attended by Family, friends and colleagues, the Service was presided over by the Sun-Dean of the Cathedral, the Venerable Benjamin Idume, with the Venerable Joshua Lambert delivering the Sermon.

Thereafter, the celebration moved on to Asah Bara Studio space for an open air garden party. With excellent  MC-ing served creatively by Zoza Icha, the young avant garde chief executive officer, CE0, of Asah Bara and the ver.

Startlingly talented Yakubu Abashiya, along with a team of upcoming professionals, gave the delighted guests a beautiful and fun-filled cultural event!

Ogazuma is a media practitioner and consultant with years of experience in teaching, film and television production (at the Nigerian Television Authority) public service (as civil Commissioner in the old Kwara State) and a stint at NGO work, coordinating WAMNET Nigeria.

Debrah is the recipient of the 1991 URTNA’s Nelson Mandela Award for Drama, for the telemovie, “For Dela.”

Other major productions include the ’80s  NTA production of “Magana Jari Ce” drama series and the 2011 Syntel-Aza production of the documentary series,  “Will the Eagle Soar?” on the imperative for women’s equal participation with men in democracy and governance.

She is at the moment planning Edutainment Communications programmes in her bid to translate ideas into living culture.
