920 police personnel to participate in fitness exercise in Enugu

AT least 920 police personnel in Enugu are billed to participate in Saturday’s fitness exercise organised by the command.
The police personnel, comprising officers and the rank-and-file, would be drawn from different divisions, formations and units of the command.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, stated this a statement he issued on Tuesday in Enugu.
Amaraizu further explained that the monthly exercise was compulsory for police personnel, who would not be on duty during the period the exercise.
He said that the command was also expecting other sister security agencies and members of staff of some corporate organizations to join in the exercise.
He stated: “The command is set to conduct its monthly sporting exercise tagged: ‘Jog/Walk for life and agility’ for the month of August.
“The command’s sporting exercise is aimed at deepening the relationship between the command and other relevant stakeholders.
“It will be used to achieve continual health of mind and body, mental alertness and fitness of participants for efficiency and productivity in policing the environment,’’ he said.
The police spokesman said that the exercise would take its participants through some major streets and roads in Enugu metropolis.
