The police command in Bauchi State on Tuesday decorated 135 newly promoted officers with their ranks.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the officers were decorated by Mr Ali Janga, the command’s Commissioner of Police at a ceremony held at the Police Officers Mess, Bauchi.

Janga while decorating the officers charged them to shun corruption and ensure law and order.

He also charged them to see their new promotion as a call to service, pointing out that whatever they do must be in line with the ethics of the force.

He warned that any officer found wanting would be punished accordingly.

The CP urged others to wait patiently for their turn, according to him, everyone cannot be promoted at the same time.

NAN reports that the 135 promoted officers consist of 116 Inspectors who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP), 13 ASPs promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), three DSPs promoted to the rank of Superintendents of Police (SP) and Three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP).
