Diocese of EVO appoints Jossy Nkwocha diocesan communicator

JOSSY Nkwocha, a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, has been appointed diocesan communicator of the Diocese of Evo, Anglican Communion, Rivers State.

His appointment was announced on Saturday by Rt Rev Innocent Uchechukwu Ordu, Bishop of the Diocese, in his presidential address/ charge at the ongoing Synod of the Diocese holding at St Mathias Anglican Church, Atali District.

Nkwocha, who is also the secretary of Elelenwo Deanery Council of the Church, was named chairman of the Diocesan Media and Communications Committee on October 1, 2019.

Nkwocha and his team revolutionised the Diocesan communications machinery and repositioned the Diocese and the Bishop in the consciousness of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

Nkwocha launched a new daily EVO News Bulletin for the Diocesan Synod.

The new appointment is an elevation.

The biggest achievement of the Diocesan Media and Communications Committee led by Nkwocha was the deployment of the Zoom Technology for the Synod which lasted from August 13 to 16.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, only selected Synod delegates were in Atali for the Synod while the majority of delegates participated through Zoom.

Indeed, Venerable Amatu Christian-Iwuagwu, guest preacher,   spoke from his base in the United Kingdom.

Nkwocha, who holds a PhD from UNN, is author of many PR books. He was General  Editor of Newswatch magazine.

Nkwocha is a senior journalist, editor, and distinguished public relations practitioner

He is a Knight of St Christopher, KSC, in the Anglican Communion.
