DR. Habeeb Ajimotokan of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ilorin, has published a trailblazing book on engineering.
It is titled: “Research Techniques: Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed-methods Approaches for Engineers”.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday in Ilorin on the publication, Ajimotokan explained that the book was published by SpringerBriefs, a Switzerland-based publishing outfit, which is a Scopus-indexed international publishing outlet of repute.
According to him, the engineering publication is for the academia and industry, as it is also one of the first of its kind in that branch of human knowledge.
He stated that the book would serve as “a reference resource to researchers and those in academia and industry”.
The author, who had earlier invented a pencil-making machine in 2019, which was patented in 2020, explained that the book is one of the first of its kind in that aspect of learning and would positively impact on the rating of Unilorin, especially its Faculty of Engineering and Technology, among their peers, not just in Nigeria but also beyond.
“The unique features of the book, are its provision of unique engineering perspectives; discussion of research planning and implementation tools for engineering research; and presentation of generic and soft skills required for impact,” he said.
Ajimotokan, who is currently on sabbatical at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, said that the book can also be assessed online. (NAN)
