PROF. Bernard Odoh, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi, has expressed concern over the destruction of electoral materials in some parts of  the state.

Odoh was speaking against the backdrop of the destruction of electoral materials specifically in some polling units in Ezza North Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

The governorship candidate alleged that some politicians imported thugs causing disorder and disruption of election at various polling units in the area.

He further confirmed that three voters were shot in his polling unit at Omege, saying “They have been on rampage since morning from polling unit to polling unit, destroying electoral materials, snatching ballot boxes and all kinds of mayhem. It has been a very challenging period for us.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, has confirmed the incident.

“The electoral materials were initially destroyed, but were later replaced at the affected polling units and  election conducted in the area,” she said. (NAN)
