TRCN to conduct Batch B professional qualifying examination for teachers nationwide

The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) says it is set to hold the October diet of the Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) for teachers nationwide from Oct. 19 and 20.

‎Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, Registrar of the council, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.

Ajiboye said that no fewer than 17,000 prospective teachers would write the computer based examination nationwide.

“Over 17,000 would be teachers across the states of the federation and the FCT have registered for the exam as batch B PQE.

‎”The examination would hold on Saturday, Oct. 20 in all the states of the federation and the FCT except in Bauchi, Imo and Plateau where the examination will start on Friday,   Oct. 19.

‎”Our technical officers are being prepared and have been trained in a two-day workshop in preparation for the examination.

“We look forward to a hitch free examination on Friday and Saturday.”‎

He said that candidates in Ekiti and Kebbi states would take the examination in Ondo and Sokoto states respectively. ‎

The Registrar said accreditation of candidates would start at 8a.m. ‎

Ajiboye told NAN that the examination would be monitored by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu; Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Onwuka; ‎Permanent Secretary, Mr Sonny Echono and members of the Governing Council of the TRCN.‎

NAN reports that t‎he National Council on Education has given December 2019 as the deadline for any teacher that is not qualified, registered and licensed by TRCN to be removed from the classroom.  (NAN)
