ZAMFARA Agency for Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP) has charged communities that benefitted from the World Bank intervention projects to maintain the facilities.

The Permanent Secretary in-charge of the agency, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, gave the charge at the capacity building training for Group Project Management Committees (GPMC) on facility maintenance in Gusau on Tuesday.

Muhammad said that the training was aimed at ensuring effective facility maintenance by the 25 committees that benefited from the multi-million naira World Bank intervention projects across the state.

Such projects, he mentioned, included schools, clinics, boreholes, skills acquisition centres, among others.

According to him, maintaining the projects was necessary for ensuring that the communities benefited maximally from them.

He commended the GPMC members for participating in the training, and the staff of the agency for working hard to ensure the success of the projects.

The Operation’s Manager of the agency, Alhaji Sani Buhari, urged beneficiaries to ensure adherence to ethics of building and maintenance of the completed projects.

Buhari commended the committees for complying with the guidelines given on project execution by the agency and the world bank.

Meanwhile, Malam Umar Nakwada, the Project Officer, Information, Education, Communication, and Training of the agency, tasked participants on the proper use of electrical appliances.

Nakwada added that the committees should always comply with ethics while executing electrification and other projects approved by the agency.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that various resource persons presented papers on facility maintenance during the training. (NAN)
