THE buzz word now is politics. Since the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, blew the whistle for political campaigns to start last week, many politicians have already started politicking. Those who know how to politick are making the most of it. The most talked baout issue now in the country is who is contesting, what are their chances and who is paying for the ever costly forms for aspirants etc. Realnews at its second anniversary lecture also joined the debate when it organised a lecture on the “Nigerian Democracy: Getting it Right in 2015” and the “Economic Implications of Getting the Right Leadership”. The lecture which was to mark the second anniversary of Realnews Magazine on Wednesday, November 19, was delivered by Professor Maurice Iwu, former INEC chairman while Roberts Orya, managing director, Nigerian Export Import Bank, NEXIM, handled the economic aspect. Benjamin Dikki, director-general, Bureau of Public Enterprises also discussed the later. In the lecture, Iwu frankly talked about the dangers that could mar the 2015 elections.  His lecture could pass as an early warning signal to both the federal government and the INEC, which if they adhere to it, the country will have a hitch free election. The issues are enumerated in Realnews cover stories for this week entitled: “The Booby Traps in 2015” and “Right Leadership Begets Good Economy” were written by Olu Ojewale, our general editor. Enjoy it.
