ABIA State Polytechnic, Aba, has concluded all arrangements to kick start the Made-in-Aba products campaign which was recently inaugurated by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Already, the institution has taken the bold step to make waste conversion and disposal equipments locally.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State successfully stimulated and fired the innate spirit of ingenuity in the Abians with the strident and focused campaign to produce and buy made in Aba products to generate jobs and grow the economy of the country.

Hence, the management of Abia Poly recently said: “It is in our interest, as a state and people, to stop distracting the government in Abia, and instead support the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in making Abia truly the number one state; the SME capital of Nigeria as well as the commercial nerve centre/production hub of Nigeria. These equipment pictured here, were fabricated by the engineering department of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.”

Abia State Polytechnic is a technological institution, with prospects to become Abia State University of Technology in the near future.

According to a release by the institution, the Engineering Department of the Polytechnic will be partnering with the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEP,  in the provision of waste disposal bins (popularly known in Aba as ASEPA bucket) that will be used for waste management.

Also, desks for primary and secondary school children that will be used in Abia and other states, will be produced by the Abia Poly and its students.
