Amendment Bill on Benue Schools of Nursing and Midwifery passes 1st reading Bill

A Bill to amend Benue Schools of Nursing and Midwifery law 2012 on Tuesday passed first reading at the state House of Assembly.
Speaking during plenary, Majority Leader, Mr Damian Cheme said that the bill is for a law to make provisions for the repeal of the state Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, Makurdi Law number eight of 2012.
Cheme said repealing the law would enable the state to transfer the premises, physical facilities and documents of the schools to the College of Health Sciences, Benue State University.
The Clerk of the house, Mr Torese Agena accordingly read the bill for the first time.
Speaker, Mr Titus Uba referred the bill to the House Standing Committee on Rules and Business to be slated for second reading at a later date.
