THE Anambra State Agency for Mass Literary, Adult and Non-formal Education, AANFE, has released the 2018 Post-Literacy And Non-Formal Education Completion Certificate Examination, PLANCCE.

The PLANCCE is equivalent of First School Leaving Certificate Examination FSLCE.

It was introduced for all adults, who for one reason or the other could not attend formal education at their infancy.

Donatus Nwosu, the acting executive secretary/director of the agency, said that the examination was conducted in all 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to him 3,216 adults registered for the examination in July, 2018 out of which 98 per cent passed out with distinction, credit and passes while only 2 per cent were absent.

“No failure was recorded. I commend unit heads and facilitators in charge of adult learners in different LGAs for their consistency in preparing the examination and making it a success story,’’ Nwosu said.

He called on the unit heads, yet to collect their results to do so immediately.

Nwosu, then praised Governor Willie Obiano and Kate Omenugha, the commissioner for Education, for providing funds and support services in sustaining adult education in the state.

The director enjoined president-generals of town unions to assist government in publicising activities of the Agency in their communities to facilitate the interest of adults in benefiting from the programme.

He urged interested persons to rush to the nearest Adult Learning Centres to register for the programme. “This is free of charge.’’
