ANAN constructs research centre at Usmanu Danfodio Varsity in Sokoto

THE Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), said the construction of Accounting Research Centre at the Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto was to advance the Science of Sccountancy.
ANAN President Alhaji Shehu Ladan made the disclosure during the official inauguration of the centre at the University in Sokoto on Monday.
Ladan said that the part of the mandate of the centre, which had reached advanced stage, was to advance the science of accountancy.
“This is to advance the science of accountancy in Nigeria, pioneering a multi-disciplinary emphasis in the production of well rounded, well blended and well honed professionals.
“Moreover, we are convinced that the advancement of the science of accountancy can be better achieved through research and availability of relevant books.

“The choice of Usmanu Danfodio University for this centre is borne out of the institution’s contribution to educational development.
“This is especially for accountancy education, and in furtherance of our quest for advancing the science of accountancy in this part of the country,” he said.
The president said that the centre, expected to be completed in 16 weeks, would be fully furnished by the association.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru expressed the University’s appreciation to ANAN for the singular generosity and giant stride in the course of humanity.
Zuru represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Atiku Yahaya assured the Governing Council of ANAN that the entire university community would be grateful for the gesture.
“The entire university community will continue to remain grateful to you for your resolve to give back to the society by way of providing a facility that will promote research and development.”
Yahaya assured that the university was committed to ensuring the success of the project as it would closely monitor its progress. (NAN)
