ATUANYA Patricia, a renowned Education Officer, has called on parents and guardians to ensure that their children or wards obtain at least the basic education in life.

Atuanya made the call at the seminar to mark the spiritual programmes for the year 2018, organised by the Catholic Women Organisation, CWO, Onitsha Archdiocese at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Onitsha.

She stressed the importance of education to children, family and the society at large.

Atuanya enjoined parents and guardians to always support them through useful advice, and offering moral and financial support.

“Basic education is crucial right of every child particularly because it promotes economic and social well-being of every child.

“Education is regarded as one of the most valuable requirements, pertaining to global progress and advancement.

“It does not only equip the individual with necessary abilities and skills for meaningful occupation but also a good instrument to convey the principal tone of a human right culture to the up-coming generation,” Atuanya remarked.

She urged the participants to always champion the task of educating their children by making the home favourable and accommodating to every member.

Victoria Muolokwu, the parish president of the organisation, admonished mothers to go beyond formal education and train their children technically.

“Teach your child Christian values, which is declining in many homes.”

“CW O is an organisation or statutory body in the Catholic Church with the primary duty of educating, training and equipping married women with good virtues to make good homes,” Muolokwu said.
