Lagos Subeb Chairman Welcomes State Teachers, Pupils Back to School

GANIYU Oluremi Sopeyin, chairman, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board Executive, on Monday, September 19, welcomed the state public primary school teachers and pupils to their various schools after the long holiday.

In a press statement issued by the board, Sopeyin urged teachers in the state public primary schools to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in the best interest of their pupils and the State in general.

He stated that the present administration has done a lot to improve the standard of public education in the State and will not relent in its efforts to continually provide a conducive-learning atmosphere for all public school teachers and pupils to maintain improved performance.

The Board chairman urged students who were successful in the State placement test to resume at their schools of posting, stressing that for school children to be successful in life they most take education very seriously.

He disclosed that the placement lists have been released to tutor generals/permanent secretaries of the six education districts emphasising that, “education is a ladder which one uses to attain success in life, at every stage of one’s life education plays an important role, therefore, our wards must get education.”

Sopeyin, who assured teachers of the continuous support of the present administration for education, appealed to the teachers to reciprocate government gesture by being productive in the line of their duties.
