THE Ogun government has warned contractors against the use of substandard materials in its ongoing school building projects.

Mrs. Ronke Soyombo,  the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, gave the warning while inspecting some projects in Abeokuta on Monday.

She said it was imperative for contractors handling the projects to work accordingly with what was stipulated in the contract given to them.

Soyombo, who said that the government was concerned about safeguarding its students, maintained that all buildings must comply with approved standards.

“We will ensure that good standard are maintained in the renovation of the schools. We will, therefore, make sure that all projects can stand the test of time,” she said.

She commended the governor for making education a priority and giving it the needed funding. Some of the schools visited included St. Anne’s (RCM) Primary School, Ibara, and Rev. Kuti Primary School, Isabo, all in Abeokuta metropolis. (NAN)
