St John's Special, Technical College, Alor wins bronze

ANAMBRA State has made to the top again winning a bronze in the process. St. Johns Special College, Alor, had been adjudged as winner of the bronze at the Festival of Engineering, Science and Technology, I-FEST, held in Tunisia from March 21 to March 27.

Kate Omenugha, the Anambra State commissioner for Basic Education, relayed the good news to Governor Willie Obiano.

“I joyfully bring you news of the super performance of the students of St Johns Technical College Alor at I-Fest.’’

According to Francis, a reverend father and the manager of the school, it is a festival of Science and Technology, where children between the ages of 11 and 24 are given opportunity to bring innovations into the world of technology.

“We attended with manually made electric inverter and solar panel. Two innovations were also introduced by the students in the world of solar technology, which are presently undergoing further researches.’’

He said that about 31 countries were in attendance with not less than 251 projects vetted and judged.

The team has since returned to the country aboard Emirates Airlines to Lagos on March 30.
