NOBLE Youths Mass Support Association (NYMSA), an NGO has called for peace, love and unity among Nigerians as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

Mr Godwin Onmonya, the National Coordinator of the group made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gwagwalada on Thursday.

He charged Nigerians to use the period for sober reflection on the state of the nation.

While congratulating the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, he urged them to remember that moderation was important in everything.

“Ramadan is a month of sacrifice, abstinence and above all, love and care for humanity. I encourage you all to be your brother’s keeper.

“Look out for your neighbor in the firm belief that he or she too will look out for you, and most importantly always use your face masks while going out to contain the spread of COVID-19  disease.

“As you celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I urge everyone, regardless of religious belief to continue to keep the peace and to live in unity with one another in Nigeria,” he said.

Omomya said the youth group would continue to ensure that the less privileged in the society are catered for to help in the development of the country.

The National Coordinator reminded the Muslim faithfuls that the essence of the holy month of Ramadan was to task all Ummah on good and compassionate living even after the fasting and Sallah celebrations. (NAN)
