Wife of Ekiti state governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, has lauded members of the Association of Nigerian Author (ANA) for their efforts to transform the society positively.

Fayemi, made the remarks at the 37th ANA International Annual Convention in Lagos, with the theme; `Literature: Megacities, Mega-Narratives’.

She said that ANA, “provided a platform across the country that helped in sharpening and transforming society even when faced with discouragement.

“ We as writers are astronomically rich when it comes to imagination, creativity, passion, courage envisioning and engineering.

`These are the attributes that help transformed society and change narratives.

She also explained further that, “using the formidable platform that ANA has provided across our country, we discover that burden gets easier as we leverage on our mutual strength.”

Fayemi who expressed concerns that writers were most times not appreciated, urged members not to be discouraged, rather, they should keep writing.

Earlier, Denja Abdullahi, the President ANA, said that the association’s main focus this year was building capacity of members through one of its initiative, ‘Innovations in Contemporary Literary Awareness Campaigns in Nigeria.’
