Nigerians paid an average N145 per litre for petrol in June

THE Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has said that Nigerians paid an average N145 per litre for Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, in the month of June. The NBS revealed that the average price paid by consumers for fuel (petrol) decreased by -1.8 percent year-on-year.
In its latest report, NBS said the average price increased by 0.2 percent month-on-month to N145.4 in June from N145.0 in May. The report noted that states with the highest average price of petrol were Kogi (N147.91), Kebbi (N146.43) and Bayelsa (N146.25). While states with the lowest average price of petrol were Abuja (N144.20), Katsina (N144.13) and Benue (N144.00).
On the other hand, the average price paid by consumers for diesel decreased by -1.46 percent month-on-month and increased by 9.62 percent year-on-year to N224.69 in June from to N228.02 in May. States with the highest average price of diesel were Borno (N266.67), Taraba (N250.00) and Abuja (N239.00).
States with the lowest average price of diesel were Bayelsa (N204.17), Nasarawa (N196.91) and Plateau (N183.33).
