INNOCENT 2face Idibia, Nigeria’s music icon, has announced that his father has reportedly been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The artiste disclosed the father’s medical condition at the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, CECP, cancer charity event which held in Lagos last week.
According to the artiste, the cancer is on its early stages and 67-year-old father of the music star is reportedly due to begin chemotherapy soon.
At the event tagged Banquet of Stars against Cancer, BOSAC, 2Face was joined by other A-list Artistes and Emeka Nwokedi, one of Africa’s greatest music maestro who conducted the Lagos City Chorale in a performance by the Choir and Orchestra of the Musical Society of Nigeria , MUSON.
The event served as an opportunity to raise funds in support of the war against cancer in Nigeria.
Genevieve Nnaji Is Not My Lover — D’Banj
DAPO Oyebanjo, hip-hop singer, popularly known as D’Banj, has denied the umours making the rounds that he dated Genevieve Nnaji, Nollywood icon, some years ago.
In recent interview, D’Banj cleared the air on his purported dalliance with Nnaji, saying that he never had anything to do with her. D’Banj who was rumoured to be in love and was set to marry Genny, said he too was shocked at the rumour and that he did not even have a crush on her not to talk of dating her.
“Honestly, I’m not dating Genevieve; I never did, neither did I have a crush on her. Let me clear the air now,” he said.
Nigerian Placed Second at Mr. World
EMMANUEL Ikubese, an actor and model who won the 2014 edition of the Mr. Nigeria contest 2014, placed second at the recently concluded Mr. World competition. Ikubese was also judged the most stylish of all the contestants at the contest which took place in Riviera International Conference Centre, Torbay, United Kingdom. Nicklas Pedersen of Denmark won over 46 contestants including the Philippines’ John Spainhour, who performed well in some of the challenges but failed to secure a spot in the top 10. Ikubese placed second while Mexico’s Jose Pablo Minor came third.
Immediately the result was announced, the Nigerian took to twitter to share his joy at the outcome of the competition. He tweeted: “I just want to thank God for giving me this great opportunity to represent my country. I came 2nd in the Mr. World 2014 contest…”
Founded in 1996, contestants for the Mr. World title compete in various activities including sports, talent, style, and multi-media, among others. The winner travels with the reigning Miss World, participating in the organisation’s different charity activities across the globe.
