A MOVIE, “12 Years A Slave” was again a big winner at the just ended BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, California recently. It was adjudged the Best Movie of the year. The movie’s lead characters, Lupita Nyong’O and Chiwetel Ejiofor won the Best Actress and Best Actor awards respectively.
Davido, African afro star, picked up his first ever BET trophy as Best International Act Africa beating Mafikizolo (South Africa), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Sarkodie (Ghana), and Toofan (Togo).
The red carpet event was stunned with incredible fashion statements and the stage exploded with the most astonishing performances from the likes of Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Usher and African best music acts like Mafikizolo, Tiwa Savage, Sarkodie, Ice Prince, Davido, among others.

Iyke Denies Dumping Buhari
JIM Iyke, the Nigerian actor, has the rumour making the rounds that he had dumped Nadia Buhari, his Ghanian actress girlfriend. Reacting to the rumour, the actor, in a statement, said: “I can assure you that whatever you may have heard regarding the misunderstanding between Jim and Nadia is pure speculation.
“Nonetheless, it is normal for lovers to disagree with each other occasionally or they would not be human beings. We are aware of the rumour about Jim and Nadia’s breakup; we have decided to ignore it because it is all false. They are still together.”
Washington to Open Clothing Line
KERRY Washington, a movie star, has a new passion, opening a clothing line. Washington will become the creator of a new clothing line inspired from her ‘Oliver Pope’ character in her TV series entitled: Scandal
The mother of one will collaborate with Lyn Paolo, the TV show’s costume designer and ‘The Limited’ clothing line to start up a Scandal-themed clothing line.
The new collection is expected in stores by September and according to RadarOnline, prices with begin from $49.
Uche Jombo in US to Deliver Baby
UCHE Jombo, the pregnant prolific actress and film-maker, is currently in the United States, to have her baby and she is expected to stay in the country until next year, well after she must have put to bed.
But Jombo is not in the US only to give birth, she is also putting finishing touches to a number of her films expected to be released in the next two months. According to sources from her camp, she has produced her 16th film and has about eight movies yet to be released.
Jombo has more than 100 movies to her credit. As a screenwriter, she has written and co-written several movies, some of which include, Visa to Hell, The Celebrity, Games Men Play, Girls in the Hood and A Time to Love.
She has also produced her own movies namely, NollyWood Hustlers, A Mother’s Fight, Lies Men Tell, After The Proposal, Under Your Skin, Unconditional, Almost Perfect, Oge’s Sister, False, A Long Night, among others.
She is being currently touted as the richest actress in Africa on account of the number of movies she has produced.
