Sally Mbanefo, Anambra  Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Art Work, Culture and Tourism, says the Government of the People’s Republic of China will build a dance auditorium in Anambra.

Mbanefo made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Wednesday.

She said that the aim was to boost tourism, culture and entertainment in the state.

The commissioner said that the auditorium was also targeted at harnessing all forms of dance troupes in a manner that they would be good enough to attract international attention and meet standards for national competition.

Mbanefo said that the auditorium when built would generate revenue as well as   promote the rich cultural dances in the state.

According to her, all plans toward the actualisation of the auditorium are nearly completed.

She said that the ministry was working out modalities on how to market the rich cultural heritage of the state and urged communities to organise their dance tunes in a manner to win competitions.

Mbanefo said that the ministry won awards based on creative performance in the just-concluded National Council for Arts and Culture competition held in Port Harcourt and planned to extend areas of competitions.

She said that the ministry intended to tap more natural gifts in persons in the state so as to develop more talents that would use their gifts for entertainment and as sources of livelihood. (NAN)
