Prince Alvin Ahmed, Chairman of the Abuja chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has called on Nollywood producers to explore the rich locations that abound in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for film-shooting.

The thespian made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on the Red Carpet at the premiere of the movie “No Where to Hide” on Thursday night in Abuja.

Ahmed, who is the director and producer of the acclaimed movie, said that many filmmakers were not aware of the tremendous film-shouting sites in the FCT, which made them stuck to using familiar terrains.

He noted that the Nigerian viewing audience were used to seeing movies shot in hubs such as Lagos, Enugu and Asaba, adding that FCT has what it takes to rekindle movie-goers curiosity in Nollywood films.

He said: “Abuja has amazing locations to make good films, besides the array of talented cast and crew it has to offer.

“However, many filmmakers are not aware of this, so we are telling them that Abuja has all it takes to produce a masterpiece such as the movie being premiered today.’’

The AGN chairman said that the movie, produced by Hot Touch Productions, was one hundred per cent produced in the territory, as all cast and crew members were sourced from within.

He added that the movie was a big boost and would open new frontiers for the film industry in the FCT.

“We have tried to use this movie to prove a point and create an niche, as the actors, producer, director and even the equipment used in the movie are from here.

“This is what we are telling filmmakers, that we have the hotels, good locations and very talented actors, both established and upcoming ones,’’ he noted.

NAN reports that the movie “No Where to Hide’’ talks about ideal family setting where reliability, trust and commitment play major roles.

The plot tells the story of “Mr Roy”, a Chief Executive officers who went “petty picky” with his wife and consequently fell to the schemes of his Secretary in the office.

The ripple effects of events that unfolded left him with “No Where to Hide.”

“You realise that if all is not well with the family, the society at large cannot be fine, and that is what we are advocating with his movie,” Ahmed said.

Iconic Nollywood actors, Charles Awurum, Jessy Nazareth and Rikki Nwajiofor were among the cast.

The movie was unveiled with scintillating performances by comedians and singers, amid cheers by fans and industry players and supporters. (NAN)
