CAMP officials in the nine flood victims’ Holding Centres in Anambra State have been tasked on proper distribution of food and other relief materials donated for the use of the victims.

The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, WASH, Clement Chigbo, the consultant, Anambra Ministry of Public Utilities, Water Resources and Community development, said this to newsmen while discussing the plight of the affected persons.

“The state government as well as some organisations and good spirited Nigerians have been doing their best to provide relief materials to the flood victims in the various holding places.”

He noted that the team of the State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) had also been providing portable water to the holding centres to boost hygiene.

Commending the camp officials for standing up to performing their duties in the places, he urged them to continue to display a high level of equity in distribution of the donated items.

He urged the State Emergency and Management Agency, SEMA, to deliver without further delays materials in their custody to the camps.

“That will add more smiles to the faces of the victims,” he said.
