Female lawmaker empowers 50 youths in Enugu

NKECHI Omeja-Ogbu representing Nsukka West Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly has empowered no fewer than 50 youths in the area with working equipment.

Omeja-Ogbu made the donation on Tuesday in Nsukka as part of her constituency project aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the people.

Some of the items donated to the youth include laptops, motorcycles, generating sets, mega phones, sewing and grinding machines.

She said that the gesture was to complement the good works of the state governor.

Omeja-Ogbu said that her foundation, Spring of Life had distributed application forms to prospective beneficiaries in all the 11 wards in the constituency.

She said that the forms were distributed by traditional rulers, ward chairmen, town union leaders and other stakeholders in the constituency.

Omeja-Ogbu explained that the beneficiaries were selected through raffle draws to ensure that everybody was given equal opportunity, adding that no fewer than five persons benefitted from each ward in the constituency.

She encouraged her colleagues and well spirited Nigerians to always give back to society.

Some of the beneficiaries including, Mr Nnanna Ozioko and Mrs. Eucharia Ezea expressed happiness over the lawmakers gesture to them.
