IRANIAN President Hassan Rouhani, on Wednesday, said Tehran would be prepared for talks with Washington as soon as the latter returned to the landmark 2015 nuclear deal, Tasnim news agency reported.

“Iran is always prepared for negotiations provided that the United States observes the UN law and regulations, returns to the 2015 nuclear deal, apologises to Iranians, and makes up for the damage it has caused to Iran.

“The Americans created problems themselves. They were the ones who smashed the negotiating table and did injustice to the Iranian nation,’’ Rouhani noted.

U.S. President Donald Trump pulled Washington out of the 2015 international nuclear agreement in May 2018 and reimposed sanctions against the Islamic republic.

“Iran began to gradually reduce its commitments under the pact in retaliation for Washington’s departure and Europeans’ failure to honour their commitment,’’ Rouhani said. (Xinhua/NAN)
