A MIDDLE aged man alleged to have forged the letter headed paper of the Presidency with the name of a former Chief of Staff to the President with an intent to defraud others over a nonexistent oil deal, was on Monday sent to Prison, as the trial opened in Abuja.

The suspect, Jarret Tenebe, was dragged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before Justice A. S. Umar of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama and slammed with a two-count charge of forgery.

The prosecution said that the suspect in 2010 forged a State House letter and signed it in the name of Chief Mike A. Oghiadomhe, former Chief of Staff to the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, requesting for approval for one year retainership service for evacuation of seized crude oil with intent to defraud.

The prosecution said that the offence is punishable under Section 364 of the Penal Code Law. The charge said    –   Vanguard
