An NGO, Princely Kids Foundation, has donated food items to residents of Kujigbi community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT, to commemorate the World Food Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that both days are celebrated yearly on Oct. 16 and Oct.  17.

NAN also reports that the food items distributed to over 500 households include rice, yams, vegetables oil, palm oil, seasoning, pepper, salt, tin tomatoes as well as face masks.

Presenting the items, Mrs Princess Jombo, Convener of the foundation, said the donation was out of the foundation’s love for the less privileged in the society.

Jombo said the objective of the foundation is to improve the living conditions of vulnerable persons in the country.

“We are here to show them some love and to lend a helping hand to them.

“We decided to celebrate these days with them because we know that food is a necessity.

“And no family or child in this country deserve to go to bed without a meal,” she said.

She added that the organisation would continue to identify vulnerable communities and the less privileged in the FCT and reach out to them.

Responding, Mr Luka Japhet, Secretary of the community appreciated the foundation for the donation and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.

Another beneficiary, Mrs Mercy John, a mother of three, said the donation would go a long way in improving their lives. (NAN)
