Foundation provides free healthcare in Niger

THE Hail Consortium, an NGO has carried out a two-day free eye care medical services and other related diseases to 600 residents living within Bobi Grazing Reserves.

Alhaji Musa Abdulsalam, Head of Hail Consortium, who is also an investor in the reserve, said the exercise was carried out through Aminu Musa Abdulsalam Foundation (AMA).

Abdulsalam, said that the efforts was to give back to society and meeting its Corporate Social Responsibility target in the area.

He said that the foundation also provided treatment of cataracts, glaucoma and other eye-related diseases, adding that it was partnering the National Eye Center to carry out surgery where necessary.

“We are also distributing items such as slippers, bathing soaps, among others to the beneficiary, ” the NGO boss said.

The founder noted that the same gesture was carried out in Wushishi and Kontagora councils  as well as in  other states of the federation.

He added that the consortium was also developing 5,000 hectares for production of dairy and beef which it had been doing for the past eight years.

He called on well to do individuals to emulate the gesture and support government efforts in improving the health of Nigerians.

Earlier, Dr Jonathan Wassa, Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Livestock and Fishery, appreciated the foundation for giving back to the society even before they started yielding profit from their investment.

Wassa, said that the government would continue to provide an enabling environment for investors willing to invest in the state.
