ACCESS Bank Plc has warned its customers to be vigilant over fraudsters seeking to defraud them of their hard-earned resources. The bank said criminals are exploiting the coronavirus pandemic to defraud unsuspecting bank customers of their money.

The bank, in a mail sent to its customers, called on them to be aware of the tactics those criminals use so that they can protect their personal information and money. “Do not respond when asked to share your mobile app activation code via phone call or SMS. Anyone asking for this information is a fraudster.

“Do not respond when asked to provide your BVN via phone call or SMS to receive coronavirus relief fund from the government. Be vigilant. Do not respond when asked to provide your card number, OTP, PIN or password via phone call or SMS even when they claim they are from Access bank.

“Do not check or open/download attachments or software from unknown sources, emails or text messages. Do not respond to unsolicited messages and calls that ask for your personal information or financial details. Remember, Access Bank will never ask for your full card PAN, PIN, OTP, password or BVN,” it said.
