Rep. Ganiyu Johnson, representing Oshodi/Isolo 2 Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has called on Nigerians to always support the needy and the less privileged in the society.

Johnson made the call on Tuesday in Lagos, while distributing food items to some underprivileged people in his constituency.

The lawmaker, represented by his wife, Funke, said the society should show more care to the poor by touching their lives and giving them a sense of belonging.

Johnson said the items donated included Semovita, pasta, wheat, among others, in fulfilment of his campaign promise to always impact on the people positively.

”I appeal to Nigerians, especially those who have the means, to always support the people in need in the society.

”When we give them a helping hand, we are not only supporting them, but we are also giving them a sense of belonging.

”I made a promise to always touch lives of the people if elected. What we have done, therefore, is a part-fulfilment of the promise.

“I will continue to do more to impact positively on the people of this great constituency,” he said.

Johnson said distribution of the items was under his ”Food for Life” project, adding that it would be done monthly in all areas within the constituency.

A beneficiary, Mrs Judith Adesanya, thanked the lawmaker for the items, urging other political leaders to emulate his kind gesture. (NAN)
