GOV. Willie Obiano of Anambra State has urged judges in Anambra State Judiciary to speed up the dispensation of justice in accordance with stipulated laws.

The governor gave the directive while inspecting ongoing upgrade of premises of the Awka Customary Court of Appeal to be converted to An Appeal Court that would commence operation soon in the Anambra State capital.

The governor explained that the state had since secured approval for the establishment of the Court of Appeal in Anambra State.

He observed that the establishment of the court in the area would expedite dispensation of justice, as the backlog of cases emanating from Anambra in Enugu would be transferred to Awka.

Obiano also noted that the establishment of the court would create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths of the state and expressed the hope that the court would commence hearing by February.
