Greenfield University offers N8.4m secondary school scholarship to 2 Kaduna Students

THE Founder/Pro Chancellor of Greenfield University, Kaduna, Engr. Simon Nwakacha, has awarded scholarship for secondary education at Imperial school in Kaduna, to two best graduating pupils of Makarfi Central Primary School.

He disclosed this to journalists in a statement he signed and issued on Monday in Kaduna.

He said that the gesture was part of his appreciation for the contribution to development of Imperial school and Greenfield University, Kaduna, respectively by some prominent indigenes of Makarfi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Nwakacha added that the gesture from his family to the two best graduating pupils (a male and a female) of Makarfi Central Primary school for their Secondary education at Imperial School Kaduna, was from JSS1 to SSS 3.

He noted that the scholarship would be effective from the next academic session (2023/2024) on the occasion of the centenary anniversary of Makarfi Central Primary school.

Nwakacha further said that the scholarship award letters would be delivered to Garkuwan Zazzau, as soon as possible.

He acknowledged the contributions, and thanked Sen. Ahmad Makarfi, former Governor of Kaduna State, under whose signature the Certificate of Occupancy for Imperial School was issued, and Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission.

He also acknowledged Alhaji Sulaiman Abdulkadir, Garkuwan Zazzau, a member of the Governing Council of Greenfield University, Kaduna, Hon. Usman Muhammad, also a member of Board of Trustees of Greenfield University, and Dr. Shehu Muhammad, whom he described as a sympathetic friend of the University.

The Pro Chancellor also thanked and acknowledged Prof. Yushehu Ango and many others for their contributions to the development of the Imperial Secondary School and Greenfield University, Kaduna.

He thanked the people of Makarfi LGA and expressed optimism for a better relationship with them in particular and Kaduna state in general.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Imperial School, also owned by the Pro Chancellor, is a premier boarding primary and secondary school, he founded in 1997 as part of his contribution to the development of education in Northern Nigeria. (NAN)
