THE Rescue Mission, a Bayelsa based group, has expressed appreciation to Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State, Petroleum (Oil), over his outreach to less privileged individuals across the state.
The group, in a statement by its local government coordinators on Friday in Yenegoa, highlighted the significant impact of Lokpobiri’s outreach on Bayelsa people during the Yuletide season.
Mr Tarila Debewari, from Yenagoa Local Government Area, signed the statement on behalf of the group.
“The Rescue Mission Local Government Coordinators applaud Lokpobiri’s commitment to reaching out to the less privileged.
“His generosity during this festive season reflects a genuine concern for the well-being of our communities.
“The Yuletide season is a time for spreading joy and kindness, and the group is truly grateful to Lokpobiri for setting an example.
“His gesture exemplifies leadership that extends beyond politics; showing the power of compassion in uplifting the lives of those in need.’’
Debewari said that Lokpobiri’s outreach across eight local government of areas of Bayelsa, signified a comprehensive and inclusive approach to community service.
He said that the initiative aligned with the Rescue Mission’s vision of addressing the needs of the less privileged and fostering a sense of unity and care within the community.
“Lokpobiri’s support goes beyond policy advocacy; it touches the lives of the most vulnerable in our society.
“We appreciate his commitment to making a meaningful impact in every corner of Bayelsa state,” he said.
Debewari explained that Lokpobiri was being appreciated for showing the true spirit of Christmas through his selfless outreach.
On the announcement of the reopening Port Harcourt refinery, he observed that the development would serve as a catalyst that would ease pressure on foreign exchange and the economy.
He commended President Bola Tinubu and Lokpobiri for the timely and successful re-opening of the refinery adding that it would make petroleum products readily available.
According to them, the reopening of the refinery will sustain petroleum industry and strengthen local economies with significant contribution to the overall prosperity of our dear country. (NAN)
