THE Nkanu Youth Assembly has lauded Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on his strides on peace building and rural development in the state in the past four years.
Leader of the group, Mr Edeani Edeani, gave the commendation in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Tuesday.
Edeani noted that the Ugwuanyi-led administration had continued to carry everyone in the state along in the state’s socio-economic development as well as in the distribution of projects.
According to him, even most recently, he rose up to the occasion when a lot of insecurity issues bedeviled the state in the past few months.
“You have continuously shown that Enugu State belongs to everybody and we must commend you for that.
“Currently, the state government is giving great and massive attention to rural roads across the three senatorial zones in the state,’’ he said.
Edeani, however, urged the governor to give attention to roads in Akpawfu and Amankanu communities in Nkanu land that were dilapidated.
“We also want the governor to tap into the numerous economic opportunities that abound in Nkanu land to help empower our youth,’’ he added.
Nkanu land is currently made up of five council areas, which are Nkanu West, Nkanu East, Enugu South, Enugu North and Enugu East.
