Adelusi Seeks $33,200 to Treat Cerebral Palsy

TOLULOPE Boluwatife Adelusi, a seven-year old boy suffering from celebral palsy and his family are seeking for financial help from Nigerians to aid his treatment in China. He was diagonised of spastic quadriplegia at 15 months by doctors, who recommended that he should be flown to China for treatment.

The doctors said there was lack of neck control with all the primitive reflexes predominating.  A specialist hospital in Beijing, China has offered to treat Adelusi and the cost is between $26,000 and $33,200. The treatment will take three and four weeks.

The hospital said, “We have treated many cerebral palsy patients and more than 98 percent of them got obvious improvement.  The improvement includes: cognition, reaction, intelligence, vision, speech, epilepsy, movement, coordinate ability etc.

“It is also important to understand that since patients are different from each other in terms of general condition, our doctors will design specific treatment programme for each patient and the outcomes will not be the same.
