Anambra partners Public Health Practitioners to Promote Service Delivery

ANAMBRA State Government says it will partner the association of public health practitioners to facilitate implementation of all forms of healthcare intervention programmes in the state.

Governor Willie Obiano made this known while inaugurating the newly elected executive of the association.

The governor noted that the partnership would assist the state government to carry out its healthcare delivery services for the people of the state, especially those residing in rural areas.

Obiano, who was represented by the State Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Pharmacist Azubuike Nwaizu added that the administration placed high premium on adequate healthcare delivery, pointing out that the partnership would also help to drive implementation of government healthcare policies.

He added that the state government had already commenced door to door community healthcare delivery system in rural areas in conjunction with public health workers.

Earlier, the newly Inaugurated Director, Association of Public Health Workers, Anambra state chapter, Mrs Benedicta Lotem expressed the willingness of the association to work with Government in implementing its objectives for the health sector.

She pledged that the association under her watch would continue the community healthcare delivery, which had already kicked off in Aguleri community to other rural areas in Anambra State.

In a paper presentation entitled: “Repositioning Public Health Practitioners For Optimal Performance’’, Obiasi Ikengwu, a public affairs analyst enjoined practitioners to be relevant and useful to society by applying intelligence and care in handling health related issues.

In a good will message, South East Zonal Coordinator, Igbojionu Bekee urged them to always abide by the rules and regulations of the association.

Present at the occasion were, Reverend Father Cajethan Obiekezie, Prof. Ben Agu, Dr N.k. Amah, Stella Ekweozo and Amasiaka Ifeyinwa.
