EMAN Abdul Atti, the world fattest woman, died this Monday morning, September 25, at Burjeel hospital in Abu Dhabi after years battling heart and kidney problems.

The Egyptian was bedridden for more than two decades and could not support her own weight standing up.

She was being treated by a team of 20 specialist doctors and had to be lifted from her home using a crane before being flown to hospital in a cargo plane.

At her heaviest she weighed 79 stone (500 kilos), but she underwent major surgery this year which saw her shed more than half of her weight.

She suffered from parasitic disease Elephantiasis and was constantly hungry as a result.

Atti weighed 79 stone when she died.

She underwent drastic weight loss surgery in July this year and had been under supervision of a medical team of more than 20 doctors.

A spokesperson said: “She had been under supervision of a medical team of over 20 doctors from different specialities who were managing her medical condition from the time she arrived in the UAE.

“Eman’s family expressed their appreciation for the care and treatment provided to her by Burjeel hospital.”

Anti weighed in at 11lbs when she was born, and by age 11 she could no longer support her own weight.
