IT WAS a day of joy and celebration for Yetunde Ajibola and Olugbenga Olumuyiwa, as they tie the nuptial knot in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Saturday, June 15. The wedding, which attracted many dignitaries in social circles, took place at the United Church of Africa Theological College, Ilorin, while the traditional marriage took place at the Ajibola family home in Ilorin.

David Gomina, the officiating minister, urged the couple not to dwell on the weaknesses or negatives of their partner, but to learn to forgive each other when a wrong is committed. He said the husband and the wife should go to sleep or ignore the faults of each other, since staying awake to those faults and wrongs would bring unnecessary tensions and strain to the marriage.

The couple met in the United States, where they studied and reside.

The wedding was attended by the parents of the couple, relations, friends, colleagues and well-wishers from within and outside the country. Yetunde’s father,  a former staff of the News Agency of Nigeria was happy to see his former colleagues at his daughter’s wedding.  A seasoned journalist, Ajibola is a former UN staff and now the coordinator, information and communication, World Health Organisation, Africa Regional Office, WHO/AFRO, based in Brazzaville, Congo.
