PROF. Timothy Adebayo, Vice-Chancellor (VC), Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, has warned students of the institution against leaving the campus without approval.

This is contained in a release by Mr Sunday Sanu, the Media aide to the VC, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ibadan.

According to the release, Adebayo expressed worry over the spate of abduction and kidnapping of students across the country.

He said that the university has decided to strictly monitor the movements of all the students, hence, there should be no unauthorized movement outside the campus.

“Therefore, all our students should stay on campus. No student should go outside the campus without due authorization.”

He urged the students to be security conscious, adding that with what is going on across the country, it appears nowhere is safe.

According to him, “One of the advantages of Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo town is that we are fully residential.

“All of us are here on campus. Consequently, I do not want any student to go outside this campus without taking permission.

“You must also always wear your identity card.

“As the VC of this university, I am your father here on campus, and I shall be held accountable for anything that happens to you.

“Therefore, I cannot pretend that all is well with this country regarding security, going by all the reports we read and hear.

“Let us cooperate and remain safe. Do not flout this restriction of movement order,“ he warned the students. (NAN)
