THE Patriots for Peace and Social Development has commended the intensified military operations in Sokoto State, stating that the end of banditry is imminent.

Dr Sani Shinkafi, Executive Director of the group, commended Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle’s strategic initiatives in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

Shinkafi noted that the ongoing military onslaught in the North West region had yielded positive results over the past three weeks.

He added this following President Bola Tinubu’s directive to Matawalle, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and other top military officers to relocate to Sokoto.

He said that several notorious bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, and Kaduna States have been neutralised in recent military operations.

Shinkafi described Matawalle’s synergy with security agencies as a testament to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at restoring national security and prosperity.
He urged support and prayers for the military operation, emphasising that security is everyone’s business.

Shinkafi also called for intensified military offences in the North West region, targeting bandits’ sponsors, informants, and logistics suppliers.

Other areas he recommended for military focus include Munhaye, Kunchikalgo, Yankuzo, Kizara, Danjibga, Dansadau, Dangubi forests, and Dole District in Jajjaye forest.(NAN)
