Isoko North LGC: Iteire inspects directorate offices, provides furniture

THE Executive Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Council, Christian Othuke Iteire on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 embarked on an unscheduled inspection of the directorate offices in the Council Secretariat, Ozoro.

Accompanied in the inspection by the secretary to the Local Government Council,  David Ejoor Igbuduma, the Head of Personnel Management, Henry Obukeowho, the supervisor for eEnvironment, Alebe Joshua Onos, the special adviser to the Chairman, Imogu Joseph, and top management staff, the Isoko-North Council boss, frowning at the nonchalant attitude of the workers towards their jobs for which they are being paid for, expressed dismay that most of the offices inspected were not only unkept, but staff were absent.

Speaking on the need for the inspection, Iteire explained that the inspection became necessary in order to encourage staff of the various offices, agencies and units. According to him, the inspection will avail him the opportunity of seeing things for himself, interacting with the staff present, and proffer solutions.

During the inspection, the staff made passionate appeal to the Council Chairman to address the issue of insufficient office spaces for staff so as to curb the issue of over crowding in some of the offices, also, working equipment and tools, including chairs and desks.

But the Isoko North Council chairman has already made provisions for the distribution of office tables for workers with a promise to do more to ensure the conduciveness of the working environment for overall effectiveness and productivity.

The statement by Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, said that the offices inspected by the Chairman included Cold Store, Primary Health Care Authority, Open Registry, Confidential Registry, National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, Office, Payment Voucher, PVC, Unit, Establishment Unit, and Identification Office. Among unfinished buildings inspected in the council Secretariat was the Staff canteen, of which the Council Chairman expressed desire to complete before the expiration of his term.
