THE Isolo Local Government Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, on Wednesday, proposed a budget estimate of N2.390 billion for 2021.

The council Chairman, Mr Shamsudeen Olaleye, made this known in a statement signed by Mr Tunde Olaleye, the LCDA Media Officer.

Olaleye said that in spite of the challenges of COVID-19, the council was able to achieve most of its set objectives.

The budget is tagged: “Budget of Legacy.”

“My administration was able to record successes in terms of project development with the construction of five standard roads at Okota; Adebajo Street at Ishagatedo; Fabiyi Street at Ilasamaja and Latif Atobajeun Street, Ajao Estate.

“I never thought I would have a smooth sail because all the seven councilors are from the opposing camp.

“But, I must praise the leader of the legislative arm, for not allowing external forces to come between us.

“I am eternally grateful to him, because he has proven to be a peaceful individual who is conscious of his mandate to the people of Isolo.

“I, therefore, assure him of my support and assistance in whatever form whenever he needs it. He can always count on me because he has always supported me,” he said.

Olaleye said his administration would continue to deliver excellent developmental projects that would impact positively on the residents of Isolo LCDA till his last day in office.

The Leader of the Legislative Arm, Mr Remmy Shittu, commended the chairman for his dedication toward the development of the council.

Shittu reeled out some of the achievements which rebranded the image of Isolo LCDA.

He said that in spite of the challenges of 2020, he and his colleagues were able to organize a Mentoring and Training program for primary school pupils at Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Isolo.

Among the road projects expected to be delivered before the expiration of the chairman’s tenure in July include Araromi Street, Ilasamaja; Idowu Osifodunrin Street, Ire Akari Estate and Karmu Street, Akinbaiye.

Others are Aregbe Street; Akinbaiye, Church Street; Ajao Estate and reconstruction of Engineering Block in the council’s secretariat. (NAN)
